Recap of the Belgian Knockout 2019
The long-awaited Belgian Knockout 2019 passed by in the blink of an eye. Four amazing days of the tournament were filled with spectacular golf moments and huge crowds watching the innovative format of the European Tour.
After two days of Stroke Play and 9-Hole Knockout Matches on day 3 & 4, the tournament was won by rising superstar Guido Migliozzi. At 22 years old, the Italian won his 2nd European Tour victory over the span of a mere 3 months. He played a spectacular game, defeating Dutch birthday boy Darius Van Driel by four shots in the final. Scot Ewen Ferguson and Frenchman Gregory Havret finished at 3rd and 4th place.
Also played on Sunday afternoon was the newly launched Disabled Golf Knockout tournament, which showcased a beautiful battle between Brandan Lawlor and Adem Wahbi, the current numbers three and four on the World Rankings for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD). Irish guy Lawlor secured the title by defeating his Belgian opponent by three shots.
On behalf of the entire Pieters Productions and BKO crew, we want to say a massive Thank You to everyone involved: to all participating players, the thousands of visitors, the 525 dedicated volunteers, our beloved partners, sponsors, and, of course, to Rinkven International Golf Club for the opportunity to host this event on the beautiful course and top-quality facilities. We surely won’t forget this edition anytime soon, and we’re already looking forward to seeing you all next year.
